PRE-PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BROWS

Pre-Procedure MUST be followed for Initial Treatments, Perfecting Sessions and Annual Touch Ups

Please read the following advice carefully:


The brow procedure can require multiple treatment sessions. For best results, clients will be required to return for at least one touch up appointment. This will take place 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure. Those with oily skin may require an additional touch up. Please be aware that color intensity will be significantly darker and sharper immediately and a few days after the initial procedure, but the color will reduce by 30-50%.


Although numbing cream and gel can be used during the procedure, sensitivity or discomfort may still be felt. Skin may be red and/or swollen after the procedure.

Hormone therapies can affect pigmentation and/or cause sensitivity. 

• Please wear no make up on the day of your procedure. 

• Please avoid alcohol 24 hours before the procedure.

• No tanning the skin for 2 weeks before the procedure.

• Do not exercise 24 hrs. before the procedure.

• No caffeine the morning of the procedure.

• Where possible, try to avoid the following herbs and spices prior to your appointment: Black pepper, Cardamom, any member of the Zingiberaceae (Ginger) family, Cayenne, Cinnamon, Garlic, Horseradish, and Mustard. 

• Please do not shape or wax your brows before the procedure..

• No electrolysis or microneedling for at least five days before the procedure. 

• Botox, AHA products, brow tinting and Retinoids should be avoided for four weeks prior to the procedure. 

• Exfoliating treatments such as microdermabrasion should not be performed within four weeks prior to the procedure.

• Chemical and laser peels should be avoided no less than six weeks prior to procedure.

Please read the following advice carefully:


The lip blushing procedure can require multiple treatment sessions. For best results, clients will be required to return for at least one touch up appointment. This will take place 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure. Please be aware that color intensity will be significantly darker, brighter and sharper immediately and a few days after the initial procedure, but the color will reduce by 30-50%.


Although numbing cream/gel is used during the procedure, sensitivity or discomfort may still be felt. Lips may be swollen after the procedure.


For the best healed results for Lip Blushing, it is important that you start the following regimen 5-7 days before your appointment:

• Gently exfoliate your lips before bed by lightly brushing your lips with your toothbrush for 1-2 minutes and immediately applying a lip mask or a good quality lip balm.

• Wear a good quality lip balm daily.

• DRINK WATER! The first signs of dehydration show in the lips. It is important for the body to be properly hydrated to accept the pigment. It is best to drink half your body weight per day.

(example:  160lbs=80oz)


What to Avoid 4 weeks prior to your appointment:

• Botox/fillers/injections around the lip area.

• Glycolic acid, chemical peels and laser treatments on the face

• Retinol, Retin-A, Retin and any other anti-aging creams


What to Avoid 2 weeks prior to your appointment:

• All facials, bleaching treatments and waxing around the lip area

• Extensive sun exposure, tanning, and sunburn on the face


What to Avoid 1 week prior to your appointment:

• Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Naproxen or any blood thinners (Tylenol/Acetaminophen is ok to consume)

• DHA supplements, Fish oil, cayenne supplements, turmeric, vitamin E, niacin (anything that can cause blood thinning)

• Marijuana and smoking


What to Avoid 24 hrs. and the day of your appointment:

• Caffeine

• Alcohol

• Exercise


*** If you suffer from cold sores or have even had 1 sore, you MUST take a doctor prescribed antiviral medication such as Acyclovir, Zovirax, or Valtrex, before and after the lip procedure to help prevent or lessen the severity of an outbreak:


-3 days prior to your appointment,

-day of appointment

-3 days after your procedure

This will complete a full 7 day cycle. If you do not do this, you may experience pain, bruising, inflammation, and could develop a cold sore.***
